In the six months since it arrived on the scene, Vauxhall’s new crossover SUV has become established in a fiercely competitive segment of the UK automotive market. Buyers have been impressed by its combination of efficient engines, excellent handling and abundant interior space. The generous levels of driver-convenience technology and the value for money offered by the affordable headline price and Vauxhall’s Lifetime Warranty, however, have also been important factors in drawing in interested customers to dealers across the UK.
The all new Vauxhall Mokka is a tall vehicle at 1654mm high, accentuating the assertive presence given by its muscular bodywork. At the same time it is a surprisingly agile SUV with excellent body control – with a wheelbase of just 2555mm, the Mokka has a turning circle of 10.9 metres. This manoeuvrability, combined with the firm, responsive steering, makes the Mokka a joy to drive on all road types. A length of 4278mm also allows the Mokka to be parked in relatively constricted spaces, although front and rear parking sensors are also present to prevent driver error when carrying out manoeuvres.
The thoughtful design of the Mokka’s interior (as well as its build quality) ensures that its compact dimensions have little effect on interior space or comfort. A maximum of 1,372 litres of space are available in the back, and passengers can enjoy an outstanding degree of headroom and legroom as well as excellent protection from wind and road noise. An array of standard features including dual-zone climate control, a digital radio, USB connectivity and cruise control make even basic models luxurious.
